Overview

The market for real estate is expected to grow ₹. 65,000 crores in 2040 to ₹ 85,000 crores by 2050. Real estate investment involves commercial properties, such as shopping malls, individual stores, office buildings, parking lots, medical centers, and hotels, and industrial buildings that are used for manufacturing, mechanical production, research and development (R&D), construction, transportation, logistics, and warehousing.

In India, investments in the real estate sector are growing rapidly, as they offer a high return on investment (ROI) and tax benefits. The residential sector is expected to grow significantly, with the central government aiming to build 20 million affordable houses in urban areas across the country. Indian government aims to construct 23 new national highways by 2025.

Mega Infrastructure Projects in India

  • National Rural Infrastructure Development Agency (NRIDA), informed that the target is to build another 50,000 km by 2030 and the focus will be on usage of green technology. India has the world's second largest rural road connectivity and the cold-mix bitumen technology has not only a high life cycle but is also eco-friendly as it is 33 per cent less pollutant. The vision of PM Narendra Modi is to reduce 1 lakh billion tonnes of carbon footprint by 2030.
  • The Union Ministry of Transport plans to invest over ₹6,000 crore to develop an Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) infrastructure along 25,000 km of national highways in the next few years.
  • Mumbai to Delhi Expressway to be completed by January 2025, the project is likely to be completed at cost a total of 1,03,000 crores.
  • Bharatmala project has been underway to develop 83,677 kilometers of roads
  • Gujarat Hybrid Renewable Energy Park when completed, it will be the biggest hybrid renewable energy park in the world.
  • Okha-Beyt Dwarka Signature Bridge, new 4 Lane Signature bridge with 900m long central cable stayed module connecting Okha and Beyt Dwarka including construction of approaches on new national highway no NH-51 in the state of Gujrat
  • Amritsar-Jamnagar Expressway (NH-754) is an under-construction 1,257 km long, 4/6-lane wide expressway in the north-western part of India. The expressway will reduce the distance and time travel between Amritsar and Jamnagar from earlier 1,430 km to 1,316 km (including Kapurthala-Amritsar section) and the time travel from 26 hours to only 13 hours. It will be opened to traffic by March 2023 and entire corridor expected to be completed by FY2024.
  • Barmer Refinery is an upcoming public sector refinery and petrochemical complex in the Pachpadra near Balotra in Barmer district of Rajasthan, India.
  • The 735 MW Solar PV Project at Nokh, in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan is India's largest domestic content requirement-based solar project with 1000 MWp at a single location, deploying high-wattage bifacial PV Modules with tracker system.
